Coretek Solution
The Coretek team recommended a single-sign-on system to reduce clinical staff's time to gain access to system data. Coretek also demonstrated how a virtual desktop could roam from any device to any location. The solution included location-aware printing, which was an essential business requirement for the Henry Ford staff. Coretek implemented their Virtual Clinical Workstation framework, which provides a fully de-coupled technology-agnostic virtualized desktop and user and application delivery environment, accessed via a proximity badge tap. The badge tap allows users to roam seamlessly between endpoints and mobile devices. Coretek worked with the Henry Ford Allegiance Health team to design and implement a virtual desktop solution, incorporating Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp, Imprivata OneSign, PrinterLogic, and AppSense Environment Manager. During Phase 1 (June 2014), Coretek set up a production pilot on existing infrastructure by leveraging the IT assets already in place. This pilot solution provided a real-life scenario for testing and interaction. The applications, desktop, and Nursing Informatics teams played a critical role in validating workflow, discovering issues, testing, and re-testing the use case. The pilot was a complete success! Users experienced immediate speed gains in accessing applications and IT resources. Roaming from room to room or floor to floor was effortless and efficient.
